To investigate the connection between soil structure, soil organic content and wind erosion in the dry steppes of KAZ, soil scientists and geoecologists from Martin-Luther-University took 540 soil samples from different test sites. The samples are now ready to be analyzed in the lab. Both research teams collaborate to gain a better understanding of soil structure and soil carbon as important indicators of wind erosion and to identify suitable agriculture practices minimizing erosion risk.
