To investigate the connection between soil structure, soil organic content and wind erosion in the dry steppes of KAZ, soil scientists and geoecologists from Martin-Luther-University took 540 soil samples from different test sites during May and June 2019. The samples are now ready to be analyzed in the lab. Both research teams collaborate to gain a better understanding of soil structure and soil carbon as important indicators of wind erosion and to identify suitable agriculture practices minimizing erosion risk.
