Field Trip: Land-Cover Mapping
Submitted by moritz.koza on Fri, 10/11/2019 - 15:00During an extensive field trip from the 28 of June til the 5th of July, geoecologists from Martin-Luther-University collected important data on land cover and land use and selected more than 600 training points along a east-west transect between Zhaltyr and Galitzkoe.
Field Trip: Soil structure as indicator
Submitted by moritz.koza on Fri, 10/11/2019 - 14:51To investigate the connection between soil structure, soil organic content and wind erosion in the dry steppes of KAZ, soil scientists and geoecologists from Martin-Luther-University took 540 soil samples from different test sites during May and June 2019. The samples are now ready to be analyzed in the lab.

Start of the Experiment on the N Availability and Use-Efficiency of Liquid Fertilizers
Submitted by markus.koch on Tue, 06/12/2018 - 12:36To evaluate the N-availability and N-efficiency of liquid fertilizers two neighbouring fields under different management but same use and fertilization were locally labelled with 15-N species of ammonia and nitrate. The label was applied to the seed furrow after seeding and fertilization. Hereby three different forms of fertilizers in liquid and solid form were investigated in triplicates.
Soil-Samping Campaign for Soil Nutrient Mapping
Submitted by markus.koch on Tue, 06/12/2018 - 12:28The second sampling campaign for completion of our north-south gradient took place from the 01.05.-28.05.2018. The subprojects SP 4 and SP 5 started in the south at our project partners in Lasovoe, Zhaltir, Shortandy and ended their work in the north in Yasnaya Polyana.
